Question : Why should I make a Ski or Snowboard rental with Rent Skis & Boards.com?

Answer: We offer completely impartial and professional advice and if you want to avoid airline baggage costs, or simply wish to try out some of the latest ski or board equipment or most importantly save money on the retail price charged in the resort, then we are your one stop site! We work with the best ski rental shops in Europe and North America and Canada who uphold the highest standards in both ski & board rental and levels of customer service.

We ensure that all our Suppliers are staffed by professionals; we've also made sure that the shops we work with offer the most modern, up to date, and well maintained ski and Snowboard rental equipment.

Question: Who Are Rent Skis & Boards.com?

Answer: We are an independent privately owned company who provide our loyal and new customers an easy to follow online ski and snowboard rental booking service.

We act as an agent on behalf of the various ski rental shops in the numerous ski resorts we offer. We put you the Customer in touch with the ski rental shops, helping you make an easy and stress free rental booking with the shop through our online service and giving you great discounts and more importantly the ability to pick the equipment up in the resort from a shop that suits you.

Question : I want to make an amendment to part of my booking, can I do this?

Answer: We will do our best to help you with amendments to your booking. Please contact us by email with your request. Part or full cancellation may incur cancellation charges (see our terms and conditions of booking). If you are already in the resort you will need to speak to the shop directly and ask if they are willing to refund you. You will need a written confirmation from the shop which you then send to Rent Skis & Boards.com before we process the refund on behalf of the shop.

Question : The person who booked the skis will not be on the Holiday so I need to change the name on the voucher, what do I do?

Answer: Please send us an email with both the old lead booking name, and the new lead booking name, along with the unique booking reference number — we will then update your details and let the shop know the changes. You will need to show some ID at the shop when you pick up your booking, so please ensure that this matches your lead booking name.

Question : What is the latest I can book my ski rental Online ?

Answer : We will always try our best to ensure that you can book up to the latest moment — however please bear in mind we have to give the Shop at least 24 hours notice before you arrival — taking into account any Sundays or Bank Holidays. If the system does not allow you to book your rentals at short notice — please contact us by e mail and we will advise if there is enough time span to complete the rental Offline.

Question : I have a Group and want to obtain a Group quote?

Answer: We always strive to obtain an extra savings or special offers for any Ski or Snowboard groups. If you have a party of 10 or more wanting ski rentals or Snowboard rentals in the same ski resort and collecting on the same day — Please contact us on with the following Details:

  • Your Name - Contact Address Phone Number and e mail address
  • Total Number of Adults and Children (including ages) in the Group with the Individual rental requirements:
  • Number of days Start date Resort and shop and Type / category of equipment required.

We will e mail you a GROUP quote within 48 hours of receipt.

Question: I made a Reservation but I have not received the confirmation e-mail, how do I get a confirmation re-sent?

Answer: First of all Please check and Ensure the e mail has not gone into your Spam inbox. If not here:

Please email us as soon as possible after making the reservation with your first and last name, resort, dates and unique booking confirmation number if you have it. We will then send you a duplicate e-mail.

Question : I put down the wrong rental dates, how can I change the date?

Answer: Please send us an email immediately advising us of your new preferred dates. Make sure you supply us with the original dates, Name of the Booking and your unique booking reference number that was confirmed to you at the time of payment by email. If we do not receive your changes and you arrive at a later time in the resort the shop will be unable to match your booking reference with your arrival date details, and you will be charged twice.

Question : I need to cancel the ski hire booking, how do I do this?

Answer: With our online booking system with credit card payment means full payment has been taken at the time of booking.

If however you decide to cancel your rental with us within 7 days of making the booking you have a legal retraction ('cooling off') period which we allow. In case of exercise of the withdrawal right within the 7-day cooling-off period, the sum paid shall be refunded less an administrative cancellation Fee of £20.00. The refund is made by crediting the card or payment method that was used for the transaction. For further details on cancellation charges both inside and outside the 7 days please refer the terms and conditions section.

Question: Does the Ski or Snowboard hire include boots and poles?

Answer: When you tick the -Include Boots in Package- Tick Box then the Price QUOTED for your hire WILL INCLUDE Ski or Snowboard Boots depending on the category selected.

If you have your OWN Ski or Snowboard boots and do NOT want BOOTS included make sure YOU, UNTICK the box.

Ski Poles are Always included with Ski Hire.

Question : What documents do I need to take to the ski hire shop?

Answer: You MUST ALWAYS take along the printed copy of your Rent Skis & Boards confirmation and Rental voucher that was sent to you by email.

The email shows your unique booking reference number. You will also need to take a Form of ID which matches the name on your booking confirmation and you will need a credit card or deposit as the shop will need this to take a deposit against your equipment.

Question : What is the minimum number of days we can hire the equipment?

Answer: The minimum ski or board hire period is 2 days.

Question: Can I hire skis and snowboards only without boots?

Answer: YES, if you have your own boots just make sure you don't have the 'Include Boots in Package- box ticked when you are choosing your equipment on the home page.

Question : How will I know if the helmet & boots I reserved will fit me?

Answer: You will try on your equipment at your chosen shop in the resort, and the professional local rental staff will make sure that you receive the correctly fitting equipment that meets your requirements.

Question : The equipment I have rented is not to my liking can I change them ?

Answer: If the fit is a problem just take the equipment back to the shop as soon as you can and change them for another model within the category booked.

If you have booked a Gold, Champion or Top of the Range category there will be no extra charge for this change. All other categories may be charged a supplement by the shop for a change of equipment that means you have upgraded to a higher grade.

Question : What happens if the shop is unable to supply me with equipment from the category I have paid for ?

Answer: In the very unlikely event that the shop will be unable to supply you with equipment from your chosen category, the shop will upgrade you to a higher category free of charge. If this equipment is unsuitable or unavailable then please contact Rent Skis & Boards.com. Please Send us written confirmation from the shop for the equipment they did supply you with including Make & Model. Send us as much information about the Reservation as possible as we welcome feedback on our suppliers, and we endeavour to continually improve our service.

Question : Can I upgrade my package on arrival in the resort?

Answer: Yes, and the shop will charge you directly a supplement for doing this. The shop will only ne able to offer you their Shop Prices, so we recommend you try to do all changes online with us before your arrival in resort. Please note if you downgrade your package, no refunds will be offered.

Question : Do I need to insure the equipment?

Answer: Yes, we strongly recommend that you take out insurance for your ski or snowboard equipment against damage, breakage, theft etc. Check your own holiday insurance to make sure that it covers you sufficiently for the grade and value of equipment that you chose to rent. Most rental shops offer additional insurance also, and this is taken out directly with the shop, and is payable locally to your chosen rental outlet.

Rentskis & boards.com strongly recommends that you have comprehensive holiday insurance that covers you for all aspects of your Ski or Snowboard holiday, including medical care.

Or TICK the Option BOX to Include DAMAGE WAIVER - where applicable.

If you do not have sufficient insurance cover, then you will be responsible for full payment to the rental shop for the entire retail cost of the equipment if the items are lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair. All repair costs are your sole responsibility, and you will be expected to pay these costs directly to the rental supplier.

Question : I want to Reserve a particular type or model of skis or snowboard, is it possible to request this?

Answer: Unfortunately we cannot guarantee exact models however we do give you an example of the type of equipment that you will receive within the category that you have chosen. However we will make every effort to try and accommodate special requests so please send these to us by email, stating your unique booking reference number, lead booking name and specific request, and we will do our best to help.

Question : I have arrived at the ski resort and realise I need to hire some more ski or snowboard equipment.

Answer: You can hire additional ski or snowboard equipment at the shop on arrival and pay the shop directly; however they will not be able to offer you the same reduced price as you receive at the time of booking online. Therefore we recommend that it is always better to try to reserve as much as possible online before arriving in the resort.

Question : How do I Pick Up my ski or Snowboard rental equipment?

Answer: Once you have booked online your required equipment, then paid and received the confirmation e-mail voucher along with your unique booking reference number Please ENSURE you take a copy of the email voucher to the shop along with your suitable ID and a valid credit card.

(A Credit Card imprint or swipe will be taken as security against your equipment). This is standard practice by ALL Rental shops.

Your chosen shop name and address will be indicated on your email voucher.

Question : How do I know that I have ordered the correct size?

Answer: When you arrive at the shop the professional ski hire shop staff will make sure that you are given the correct size of equipment for your height, weight and ski or board ability. They will check all this in the shop when you collect the equipment. If you enter these requirements on the system first - This is only taken as a guideline.

All of our 'gold' or top range packages offer the opportunity for you to exchange your skis once within your hire period at no extra charge.

There is no supplement charged for changing your boot size. It is important you have comfortable fitting boots - so explain to the shop where you have any discomfort.

However If you decide to change equipment category (For Example upgrade from Bronze to Silver) the shop may ask you to pay a supplement locally.

Question : Can I rent my Ski or Board equipment by the day?

Answer: Rent Skis & Boards.com offers a minimum 2 day rental package. Rent Skis & Boards.com do not offer refunds for any unused rental days.

Questions : Are Ski poles included with my ski rental?

Answer: Yes, Ski Poles are always included in the hire of the skis and are included in the Price paid.

Question : When will I be able to pick up my equipment at the shop? Also when do I have to drop off my Ski and Snowboard equipment?

Answer: We know you that you will want to get on the slopes as soon as you get to resort, so you can pick up your equipment from 5pm the day before your first hire day. Please make sure that when you drop off your equipment on the last day of your rental period before the shop closes, or by 10:00am the next morning.

Failure to drop off the equipment at the correct time will result in the shop charging you directly for another day's rental at the full public rate of the shop.

Question : How secure is the Online Booking System?

Answer: When you make a credit card transaction on the Rent Skis and Boards web site it is done in a safe and secure environment, using the latest technology by Sage Pay (formerly Protx) Sage Pay is a Payment Gateway, also called a Payment Service Provider (PSP) Payment Gateways provide the secure link between the website and the merchant bank to ensure that your card details are kept secure throughout the transaction process.

Protx has achieved the highest level of compliance under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI). They adhere to the most stringent levels of fraud screening, ensuring that your details remain secure throughout the transaction process.

Rent Skis and Boards takes all security very seriously and by using a PSP (Protx) the company does not see your credit card details during the transaction process and we are therefore unable to retain your credit card details on our system. Keeping your payment details secure.
